DECLUTTER
That's right....it's time to go through your stuff. You want to make sure your home is free of clutter before others come to view it and it'll be less stuff for you to move into your next home. I know getting rid of your stuff can be hard and there can be memories attached to items, but ask yourself if it's giving you positive or negative feelings.
Repair Noticeable Items
When you're walking through a home as a buyer, you are looking for red flags. Stains on ceilings, cracks along the walls, water damage, mold, and much more can cause a buyer to walk away from a home. If you know of any issues, it's better to go ahead and get ahead of it. Especially in the case of mold! You don't want to go under contract and then it fall apart because of that. It's better to go ahead and get it remediated ASAP.
Curb Appeal
This is also a big factor when buyers are looking at homes. When they click on the picture of your home online, they want to see something that invites them in and makes them want to go take a look. Adding some plants to the flowerbeds and taking care of your yard can go a long way.
Air Out Your Home
You know the commercial where it says you can go nose blind? It's a real thing. You're in your home more than anyone else so the everyday smells become normal. If you have pets, smoke/vape, or cook with strong spices, I recommend opening the windows up and letting some fresh air in. Maybe consider wall plugs, sprays, or even carpet cleaners to help get the odors out.
